this is a favorite post.
Oh Brooke.
Wala, yun lang. Good thing napagtripan kong panoorin yung OTH kahapon kasi may natuto ako muli sa pag-ibig. Hayy.
Congrats Brooke at Lucas. Hinahanga ko ang pag-iibigan niyo.
Hahaha.
One more thought I've cooked up amongst my numerous thinking sessions is the absurdity and fallacy in fairytales and Disney Classics.
I may be pessimistic about matters of the heart, but please; happily-ever-after must be harder to get than that.
Heck, all of the Disney princesses get the princes wrapped around their fingers at first sight, and vice-versa. Save for Aladdin, or Sleeping Beauty (the first time Aurora and Prince Charming meet is when they were children, and the prince cringed at the sight of her).
The point is, when I was young I used to get the silly notion that once a girl likes a guy, or the other way around, there is no mistaking that they will end up with one another.
Growing up with cartoons and pre-teen shows can make you do that. You get the delusion that you are the protagonist, the heroine, and that the story of your life will hook you up with the man of your dreams. How utterly disastrous that thought turned out to be.
And let me tell you, I grovel at the feet of ignorance and naivety that it's sickening. "Mature" isn't something you'd check off for my JoHari Window, considering you know what that is haha.
Liking someone is hard. Especially if you're not exactly a Malibu Barbie or Jessica Alba or Nicole Scherzinger or some other epitome of perfection. What more if your self-esteem isn't quite sky-high?
Anyway, I'll try to get some help with these exuberant outbreaks of mine sooner or later. I must be freaking you out.
I still love Disney Classics, nevertheless. Haha.
A girl can dream, you know.
Also, did you know that the original Little Mermaid ends up with Ariel dead and apart from her beloved? The prince married another girl, simply because our heroine could not speak. Her mermaid sisters came to her one night and instructed her to kill the prince in his sleep to get her back to her true form. But out of pure love and sacrifice, she threw herself into the sea and died.
Now that's what I'm talking about.
Don't worry, because she was so devoted, she ended up as a soul in heaven, happier than anyone could ever be. Not the typical ending, but lovely all the same.
Siya nga pala.. crush ko si GERALD!!
In yet another aspect of my uneventful existence, I'm DD this year.
Just think of it. Day after day, constantly being reminded how stupid and lazy you are. Greeat.
There's no doubt God really is taunting me. No seriously. He is taunting me to do better, that is. He, of all people, acknowledges my loathing for regret and failure, and has took it upon Himself to hone my sense of competition. At least, Arleen (yes special mention ulit) thinks so. Sabi niya lucky ako. Tch.
Okay God, let's do it Your way. I will open my books this year, and study like I've never studied before. After all, 3rd year is an important year.
My efforts will start on the 13th, mark the day.
